Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year we went down to St. George with my parents and Matt and Kenzie (and baby Morgan). My parents took us on the hidden waterfall hike at Zions on Wednesday. Don't ask us where it is, my Dad made us wear blindfolds. After that we wasted a little time looking for a Anasazi granary in Zion Canyon my dad has wanted to find after seeing it in an old history textbook. Thanks to me we spent most of the time looking in the wrong place, my bad. Got out shooting Thanksgiving morning, I haven't shot a gun since little Robby has been born so that was a lot of fun. Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and Karli made pies for dessert. Friday we went out to the Grafton Ghost Town and back to Zions to find the granary. Grafton was neat and we found the granary right away the second time. Saturday we took the four wheelers out and Robby was a little scared but had a good time. We went out to Warner Valley to show my parents a pictograph I found out by Fort Pierce. After working up an appetite four wheeling and hiking we stopped by Frost Top for some treats. It was a classic St. George Thanksgiving.

Day Off

Last Thursday my mom went down to AZ to watch the kids while Amy and Gary ran Ragnar. I got to take the day off to watch Robby while Karli was at work. First we went to USU's Museum of Anthropology to kill some time before the library opened. It was such a nice day that we walked around old main hill and the amphitheater. After that we went to first dam stopping at the island market to get an apple and some penny candy. First dam was great, we saw deer, fish and all sorts of various water fowl. After first dam we went to Logan Library and got some war and history books for Daddy and trucks and race car books for the boy. All in all it was amazing day and it couldn't have happened at a better time. The next day we had a big snow storm and it has been cold and wet since. Probably was one of the last nice days of fall here in Logan. Shot this little video with my phone.

Halloween

Robby was a dinosaur for Halloween this year. Grace and him had lots of fun trick or treating together.

St. George video

Go Aggies!

Two weeks ago we went to Lil Robby's first Aggie football game against New Mexico State. We won 41-7 and was a beautiful day to watch the Aggies beat the Aggies.

Last night Robby and I went to his first basketball game. I think he liked it better than the football. He sat on my lap the whole time and was glued to the game. We beat Simon Fraser 92-56. After the game we went over to the Sig house and showed Robby where I lived for three years and met and fell in love with his mommy. What a fun boys night out!

Summer Catch Up

Here is an album full of pics I would have been posting if I wasn't so lazy. Enjoy!

Fall Break in St. George

Been slacking with the blog lately. I have a ton of pics to post, here's a few from our trip down to St. George for Karli's birthday. While most of the state was experiencing a cold front it was hot and sunny for us.

Pine Valley

Last week we had a family camping trip to the Pine Valley Mountains near St. George. We stayed up there for two nights and then went back to St. George for a night. It was so much fun to get the whole family together. Grandpa took the kids fishing, Grandma had all sorts of fun things for the kids to do and we sat around the camp fire at night and told old stories while roasting Starbursts. We ended the week at the pool in St. George and then a shake and onion rings from Frostop. Can't beat that. Big thanks to my parents for putting the week together.

Sproul Family Reunion

This weekend we had a Sproul Family reunion at Warm Spring Retreat in Hanna, UT. It was a great little place with cabins, a paviollion and amphatheather. There was even a pond with paddle boats and kayaks. We had a great time enjoying the outdoors and each other's company. Thanks to everyone for making it such a fun time.

Memorial Day

The rain kept us indoors most of the weekend but we managed to get out to first dam to feed the ducks and then dinner and smores up Logan Canyon.

Grace's 3rd Birthday

Grace turned 3 years old last Friday. We got to spend time with her on Friday and Saturday.  On Friday, we had a birthday pancake party and did whatever Grace wanted to do which included reading books, coloring, and making stuff with pipe cleaners.

The next day, we went to Grace's birthday party.  It was nice to see family and friends.  Emily made a cute Hello Kitty cake.  Little Robby enjoyed assisting Grace cut the cake and eat it.

Mother's day at Hogle Zoo

We went to Hogle Zoo for Mother's Day again this year. Robby loved seeing the animals in real life, he got really excited when he realized he was seeing the real thing.

Yesterday we went down to SLC to visit Nay and Aki, see Jim and Cindy's new house, and let the kids go on another Easter egg hunt. We all had a great day together.

Easter

Robby wasn't that interested in finding or decorating Easter eggs but he sure does love playing in his new sandbox.

Baby Animal Days

We went to Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center yesterday. Lines were long but it was a lot of fun. I think I had just as much fun as little Robby did. What a fun day of playing with baby animals and learning a little something about life in the old west.

Merlin Olsen Park

Had a great day today spending a little time at the park so Robby could show off his first hair cut.

Dinner with the family

Last night the whole family got together at my parents house for dinner. We got to meet Adam's and Mel's new twins, Olivia and Tate. They are so cute, I love new little babies. That makes four new babies in the past year or so which provided endless entertainment and commotion around the house with the eight other grand kids running around. It's amazing to watch your nieces and nephews grow up so fast and I'm so grateful for times like this when we are all together.

Spring Break

For spring break this year we went down to St. George for the week. We had a really great time because Jim, Cindy, Jenny and Randy all came too. The first day we were there it was just us so we decided to try and hike up to the top of Shinob Kibe. It's a little hike I used to do with my cousins when we visited Grandma's house that gives you a great view of St. George. It had been a while and I wasn't sure exactly where the trailhead starts (it's not marked) so we just walked down a dirt road for a little bit. Next time we will know right where to go. The next day Jim and Cindy arrived so we decided to hike to Lone Pine Arch. This was a hike we attempted our last visit but had trouble finding and didn't make it all the way to arch. We found it this time and it's a really neat place. Jenny and Randy got in Friday night so the next day we went for a hike at the Red Cliffs. I forgot Bodhi would have a hard time getting up parts of the trail (look at the photo album and you will see why) so we didn't go very far but we hiked back down and had lunch and took another small hike to some ancient Anazazi Indian ruins. It ended up working out perfect. The Blue Angels were in town for an air show so we took the scenic route home and had F-18 flying over our heads. The air show was on Saturday and Sunday but we had all sorts of planes flying over our heads all week long while they were practicing. It was pretty cool, we drove out to the airport to get a closer look because it beats paying $20 for the show. All in all it was a great week, it's so much fun spending time with family, I'm so glad Jenny and Randy drove all that way for such a short visit because we don't get to see them a whole lot.

Playing with his spuds

Who needs toys when you have a sack of potatoes. Karli and I were washing dishes tonight and this is what we saw when we turned around. He took small bites out of nine of them.

Fun weekend with family

We took advantage of the three day weekend and headed south to hang out with family. On Saturday we went down to SLC to hang out with Jim and Cindy. We had plans to go out on the town but decided to stay in and play spades all night. It was boys vs. girls, very serious business. Karli and Cindy took a beating but they were very gracious losers;) We always have the funnest time playing cards with them. On Sunday we visited the Gilgal Sculpture Garden in SLC and then headed to my parents and hung out all day and watched football. Matt and Kenzie came over with their new baby Morgan (which I failed to do a post on, sorry kiddo). Adam and Mel's family came over too and we all had dinner together. Extra special thanks to my mom for dinner and inviting everyone over, it really made my day. Today we had Grace over for most of the day and we played and played and then played some more. As soon as I stop playing Grace simply says "Hey, play... play... play". I wish every weekend could be like this.

Christmas 2011

Christmas Photo Album Link
We spent Christmas Eve at Nae & Aki's. We ate a delicious dinner and played a heated game of White Elephant Exchange. Little Robby enjoyed assisting us with opening the gifts.

Christmas morning started off with a yummy breakfast of eggs, toast, and cuties. Little Robby enjoyed opening his presents. We read The Gift of the Magi and played with Little Robby's new toys in the morning. We went to my sister Emily's house for a delicious Christmas lunch/dinner. We had a great night and it was so nice to have Jenny, Randy, and Suppy with us!

Emily's birthday is on the 27th. We celebrated at my mom's house. We had tasty sweet pork and cheese cake. Don't worry Jenny and Randy-no one saw you drop the cheesecake...The grandparents took Grace and Little Robby so the big kids could go bowling. It was great to spend so much time with my sisters and brother-in-laws.
